The Stickney Public Health District operates three primary care clinics providing free physician services and Health District programs to township residents.

Residents need to obtain a Stickney Township identification card to obtain services. Please contact any of the offices or stop by during our business hours (South and North Clinics, 8:30a.m. to 4:00p.m. or Central Clinic 8:30 to Noon, Monday through Friday).

A number of other health services are also available including: pregnancy testing, well baby clinics and immunizations, communicable disease investigations and follow-up, home health care school nursing services, vision and hearing screenings, blood pressure and cholesterol screenings, diabetes screenings and school physicals.

Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program

THE WIC PROGRAM IS A SPECIAL SUPPLEMENTARY NUTRITION PROGRAM SPONSORED BY USDA. WIC PROVIDES NUTRITION AND BREASTFEEDING EDUCATION; ALONG WITH NUTRITIOUS FOODS AND REFERRALS.
WIC SERVICES PREGNANT, BREASTFEEDING AND POSTPARTUM WOMEN, INFANTS AND CHILDREN (UNTIL 5 YEARS) WHO MEET THE FOLLOWING ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

WHAT HAPPENS AT MY WIC APPOINTMENT?
YOU WILL BE SEEN BY THE WIC CLERK WHO WILL VERIFY ALL OF YOUR INFORMATION AND EXPLAIN WIC TO YOU.
NEXT, YOU WILL SEEN BY THE WIC NURSE WHO WILL TAKE YOUR HEIGHT, WEIGHT, FINGERSTICK (IF REQUIRED) AND BLOOD PRESSURE.
THE WIC NUTRTIONIST WILL ASSESS FOR HEALTH AND/OR NUTRITION RISK FACTORS, PROVIDE NUTRITION INFORMATION AND MAKE REFERRALS.
FOOD INSTRUMENTS (COUPONS) ARE PRESCRIBED, PRODUCED, AND EXPLAINED. YOU MAY TAKE THE FOOD INSTRUMENTS TO ANY WIC APPROVED STORE FOR REDEMPTION.

WHAT KINDS OF NUTRITION FOODS WILL WIC PROVIDE?
WIC FOOD PACKAGES MAY INCLUDE: MILK, CHEESE, EGGS, JUICE, PEANUT BUTTER, DRIED PEAS AND BEANS, CARROTS, TUNA, INFANT FORMULA, INFANT JUICE, INFANT CEREAL, AND SPECIAL FORMULAS.

HOW MUCH DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE FOOD INSTRUMENTS?
THERE IS NO COST TO YOU TO REDEEM YOUR FOOD INSTRUMENTS.

CAN I STILL WORK AND BE ON THE WIC PROGRAM?
YES. THE WIC PROGRAM FOLLOWS THE 185% OF THE FEDERAL POVERTY GUIDELINES.

CAN I BE RECEIVING LINK (FOOD STAMPS) AND WIC AT THE SAME TIME?
YES. YOUR LINK CARD IS NOT REDUCED BECAUSE YOU ARE PARTICIPATING IN THE WIC PROGRAM.

All Kids Program

All Kids is an insurance health program that provides Illinois families with affordable and comprehensive health care for children, regardless of family income, immigration status or medical condition. Higher income families may have co-pays and premiums to pay based on reported family income.

Stickney Public Health District has agents available to help with the application process of the All Kids Program. To set up an appointment please contact the Public Health Nursing Division at 708-424-9200. Ask for Lynn in the WIC Department.
